As we moved south from Deltaville to Norfolk, the water got saltier, the weather got warmer, and the cargo and navy ships got a lot bigger. We were almost to Hampton when a pod of dolphins swam along side our boat. I was too excited to grab my camera, but there will be more.
The Elizabeth River is mile marker 0 of the ICW, so we’ve now entered “the ditch“ and we will take it all the way to Florida.
Today we are headed towards the Dismal Swamp and plan a shorter day since we have to watch for logs and things that go bump! Almost to North Carolina…
